Researches need an effective and affordable technology for genotyping or mutation analysis. Primer extension based technologies have obtained a leadership position in the SNP scoring field in MIT, Affymetrix, Orchid BioSciences et al. In addition, many academic laboratories are using them extensively. This event is a practical training course on the use of the arrayed primer extension technology (APEX) for DNA resequencing, mutation analysis and SNP based genotyping. The crucial question here is about the type of solid phase to be used and this course will demonstrate the use of glass slide supports.
Following the practical course will be a lecture series focused on theoretical aspects of SNP-based genotyping and LD calculation and also other technical platforms of genotyping (MS, ASO minisequencing, microbeads, etc.)
Practical training (August 26 - 30, 2002) will be held at the Molecular and Cell Biology Institute of the University of Tartu and the Estonian Biocentre.
The lecture 1.5 day course "Theory and Different Practical Methods of Genotyping" (August 31 - September 1, 2001) will be held in the hotel conference facilities in Tartu, where distinguished experts in the field will be covering different practical methods of genotyping.
