University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway
Martin
Kuiper : Ghent University, Belgium
During
this one week course participants will learn and discuss microarray
gene expression analysis with an emphasis on standardisation
and benchmarking. Curriculum includes central biological issues
in transcript profiling, introduction to experiemntal design
and data analysis, laboratory training in labelling and hybrisation
as well as data storage and handling, basics of microarray
production and development of new microarray formats.

Membrane
Proteins - the rocky road from gene to crystal

Membrane
proteins present a great challenge to structural biology.
Knowing their structures will be essential to understand relevant
biological systems. The sequence of topics covered by the
course will follow roughly the "rocky road" to go
from the gene to the crystal of membrane proteins, which are
still two major bottlenecks on their structural characterization.
