Introduction
The European Congress on Biotechnology is one of Europe's oldest and most important biotechnology events, and the only international and multi-disciplinary scientific biotechnology congress in Europe . Organised every 2 years since 1978, the focus for this 13th edition will be on SymBIOsiS, the interdependence of Science, Industry and Society. The 5 Central themes of the Congress, each of which will focus on cutting edge science, will be Functional Genomics & Technology, Industrial Biotechnology, SymBIOsiS – Science, Industry & Society, Health & Medicine, Green Biotechnology. Previous meetings have attracted over 1500 leading scientists and other senior participants, over 500 posters and over a hundred exhibitors from more than 50 countries across Europe and beyond.
The Functional Genomics & Technology programme ranges from high-throughput reagent-based tools and technologies to comparative genomics, systems biology and nanotechnology. The international speakers are chosen not only for their eminence in this area but also for their links to the biotech community.
The full Symbiosis conference programme can be found here.
