Introduction

This year the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) is celebrating its 40th Anniversary!

In acknowledgement to the research community for its support and friendship, past support by Ciba-Geigy, and the continued support by the Novartis Research Foundation, we have organised an open scientific conference to be held in Basel on September 20 & 21, 2010 .

We have invited outstanding speakers, from leading Universities as well as from the FMI, to talk on subjects ranging from neurobiology and epigenetics, to growth control and cancer. We anticipate that this event will attract a large audience, including students and postdocs, and encourage all to participate actively in the poster sessions. It will not only be an opportunity to hear cutting edge biomedical research, but it is a chance to visit the FMI and catch up with former colleagues.

We hereby invite you to register for the FMI 40th Anniversary Symposium “Frontiers in Biomedical Research” at the Congress Center in Basel, Switzerland. It is the major scientific anniversary event for our collaborators, colleagues and peers from Switzerland and around the world.

While participation at the FMI 40th Anniversary Symposium is free, registration is required.
